Wellingley Miniature Schnauzers are based in South Yorkshire and are shown by Liz Longdin and Karen Davidson.
Liz bought her first Mini in 1985 as a family pet after breeding Labradors for the field and Cairn Terriers which she successfully showed and exported to America. Since then her love of the breed has become her passion.
Breeding only one or two litters a year each litter is carefully planned and raised within the home getting used to the sights and sounds of family life. Keeping a limited number of dogs has meant that Liz has worked hard to form a strong bitch line. Liz has been fortunate to import and show dogs from abroad making up champions from three different countries and incorporate them successfully into her breeding program. She awards CCs in Cairn Terriers, Miniature Schnauzers and Schnauzers and is always excited about helping newcomers learn about the breed.
Karen bought her first Miniature Schnauzer after owning and showing the larger cousin the Standard Schnauzer as a junior handler in Scotland which led to her passion and career in Dog Grooming. She contacted Liz about a show puppy in 2005 and they have remained friends since. After relocating from Scotland to be "closer to the action" in 2017 Karen began showing Deirdre (Ch Wellingley Which Way Now) and they have shown the dogs to many memorable wins since.
The dogs are all lucky enough to have the run of the house and a large garden to play in as well as country lanes to practice there hunting skills on... occasionally they show their heritage and succeed!
Wellingley have been fortunate to gain considerable success at dog shows and continue with the aim of breeding beautiful Miniature Schnauzers who make great family pets... and hopefully a winning show dog now and again!
Over the years Wellingley has been awarded top breeder, top dog, top brood and top puppy and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Occasionally puppies are available to caring and loving homes, visitors are welcome and help and advice always available.
